Hospice of North Central Oklahoma, Inc., is located at 1904 N. Union,
Suite 103 in Ponca City, OK, they provide physical, emotional,
psycho-social, spiritual care support to all patients who are facing a
terminal illness. Hospice care recognizes that it is not just the
patient who is facing the complexities at their end-of-life, but the
family, friends and caregivers who offer their love and support on a
daily basis also need support, comfort and guidance. Hospice care is a
healthcare philosophy that addresses the needs of the patient and their
family / caregivers.
Since 1982, there have not been any expenses to our patients or their
families for the hospice care and bereavement support we provide for
them. We also provide bereavement support to anyone in north central
Oklahoma who has experienced the death of someone they love through
sudden tragedy, suicide or illness. Some people have asked, “How can you
do that?” and the answer is simply this; “It is because of the amazing
financial and volunteer support of the citizens of north central
Oklahoma through gracious memorial giving, donations and fundraisers and
hours of volunteer support that enables us to continue our mission’s
work.”
As a Not-For-Profit, Freestanding & Community-Owned hospice
organization, we do not exist in order to make a profit or to profit any
individuals, but rather we exist to fulfill our mission. As a 501 © 3
charitable organization, all donations are tax-deductible as permitted
by the law. As one of the early pioneer hospices in Oklahoma, we were
created out of the concern of local citizens who volunteered their time,
wisdom and energy to create one of the few not-for-profit &
community-owned hospices in Oklahoma. We depend on the generosity and
faithfulness of donors to continue the vision of the organization and
immediately fund the mission.
Hospice care recognizes death as a natural process when it is measured
in months rather than years. Hospice care neither hastens nor postpones
death, but affirms that people can live life with dignity, making
memories today and living each moment to its fullest. Our professional
staff and trained volunteers work hard to minimize pain, stress, fear,
and isolation which the patient and family can potentially encounter. It
is the commitment of our organization to assist, support and encourage
each patient and their family experience each day as a gift, even in the
midst of complex situations.
